An integrated services company has won a major gas contract extension in Victoria.
Downer EDI recently secured an extra five-year term for its existing gas services contract with AusNet Services. The work involves providing operations, maintenance, capital works and 24/7 emergency response for a gas distribution network, covering an area of 60,000 sq km and 10,000 km of pipelines that serve more than 620,000 customers in outer western Melbourne and both central and western parts of Victoria.
QMEB can reveal the extended contract takes effect in April 2021 and is worth $350 million.

The deal comes after AusNet procured Downer to deliver operational and maintenance services for its electricity distribution network for five years worth about $600 million.
